Fake question paper SCAM busted.
The Pre-University Board Commissioner S G Hegde, said Rs 1.12 lakh collected from the students at the rate of Rs 15,000 for a question paper, was recovered from kingpin C Shivkumar, who was working as an Assistant Master in a Corporation Girls School here.
Mr Hegde said the modus operandi of the gang was to spread rumour about availability of question papers and to deceive them with irrelevant questions not connected with the question paper. Mr Hegde said the Board laid a trap yesterday with a staff pretending as a student approached the gang to buy question papers.
The student concerned immediately informed the police after getting a telephone call about availability of question paper for mathematics examination, scheduled for today. A Police team rushed to the spot and arrested the wrong-doers. The student Aditya was, however, allowed to appear for the examination, as he pleaded ignorant.
Mr Hegde urged the students and parents not to fall prey to such rumours, since the possibility of question papers getting leaked was remote.
